Assignment 6

To perceive something, I believe, is to think you know something or if you have the idea. If one is to perceive something, then you the general idea. Knowing is that you fully know something. For example, to perceive the plot of Star Wars is that it is a movie that takes place in space with alien like creatures. To know the plot of Star Wars is that you know the history of Luke and Leia, who played them, what order those movies go in and then the newer movies with Anakin, don’t forget Darth. They are two different things. When you know something, you have to perceive it because that is the order, you first perceive something and then you know it. So vice versa, when you perceive something, then once you perceive the idea then you know something. Like in football, you perceive the game as a bunch of people running around going after a ball. But you know watch it more, learn and understand it, then you know it is complicated with plays, different drives, different people do many different roles. If instinct is considered knowing something, then that should be considered superior because instinct is a gut feeling that you feel is right or wrong. Instinct is superior than knowing something because it can not be taught and that decision is always with you.

Assignment 5

To describe one's self....that was really hard so I am just going to move on. My worst weakness would definitly be my stubbornness. I am working on my spontaneous behavior. Anyway I am very stubborn, but it runs in my family so it's not my fault! What I have done to combat my spontaneous behavior is just before I make a really important decision, I force myself to just sit down and think about things for a minute. Little decisions, I think about but do not take too seriously. My best quality, I believe, is my personality. I have never had a problem making friends at all. I have only been at Amity for a little over a year and I have so many friends. This is why I am wprried about college, but not about maing friends. I feel that writing what I just did stated the obvious. I already knew that even though I am getting better, I still need to go through the steps when thinking about hard decisions, I already knew that I am stubborn and always will be. I also already knew that not to toot my horn but toot toot, my personality is probably what got into college. :D

Assignment 4

Well we had a little conversation about advise so I am going to go with what you in the form of seeing someone doing something and deciding if I did or did not want to act that way. This, I have a LOT of examples for. I will go with the easiest which is my mother, I saw how she rasied me or tried to. I saw they way she acted towards me, her "friends" and life in general. I realized right then and there that is not how I wanted to be whether there is a child involved or not. She is basically what not to do as a mother, so I have had a lot to learn from. And now I live with my aunt and she is how to be a mother both towards her own son and me.

Another example is that a dear friend of mine recently got serverly injured in a powder puff practice. One of my other friends and her were fighting but when she found out that this young lady was injured, she immediatley let it go and called her. I saw this as very admirable. But when I spoke to another friend, she did not care that this girl was hurt, she called her all these names and I was astonished. How could you say such things to someone who is "crimpled." Yet that first friend forgave everything because she was obviously the more mature one and knew that someone's health is way more important than some silly little high school feud. I was very impressed with how she showed her maturity in doing this. I was also very disappointed on how it showed this other girls immaturity.

So these are my two tales of how I learned from people (what to do and what not to do) and how to be mature (and the true colors of people).

assignment 3

We figure out life has a value by personal experience and personal choice, If you choose to live your life and do nothing, then your life has no value at all. If you live life to the fullest, then your life has value but again all personal choice. The meaning of life is to experience for what it is worth. To not let anything hold you back and just do what yu have to do to be happy. Success is something completely different becuase success to one person is to live a happy, healthy life while to someome else it could be to be the next billionaire.

My List of things I want to possess or experience before death
1. Have children; I want to be an elementary school teacher and I really enjoy babysitting, I am just great with children and I really enjoy helping/being there for them. Children are valueable to humanity because without them, we have NO future what so ever.

2. Travel the world; I have been to 5 countries besides the US but only briefly, I would to be able to see other cultures, other life and just see how they are similiar and different the US. Traveling to other lands is one of the most important things towards humanity because we need to know how life is different from ours. We can use this information and grow individually and as a society from it.

3. Make a difference; Somehow I want to make an impact in the world (hopefully positive). I want people to be able to learn and change themselves as a person when they hear what I have to say. This is important to my personality because when I see that something is "not quite right" I need to speak up and attempot to fix it. It is just who I am. This is important to humanity because when something wasn't right (the way blacks were treated wrongly) someone spoke up (Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr.) and they made a HUGE difference. That is all it takes, one person who is strong about what they belive in to make a difference.

4. A Million Dollars (minimum); I love money, that is why I am so "cheap". That is a part of my personality. To make a difference in life is not easy is definitly not cheap, I know people would like to believe so but like for instance if I wanted to help with the push for better health care, I would need some form of money to help make some impact. Money is important to humanity because it helps our culture survive along with other cultures and helps us interact with other cultures.

5. To Produce a movie AND have it succeed; Movie making is very fun and helkps express who I am individually. It helps people see an aspect of me that is not revealed in everyday life. People get to see in an artistic non tattooing way (people think thats art) the way I think and who I am. This is important to humanity because it helps many other express there feelings the same, helps others to relate to them in the same way and make a million dollars minimum. See how everything ties together?

Assignment 2

This means for humanity that when someone searched for something that they want in life, espically they want as badly as Gilgamesh wants immortality, and when he finds the person who can give him the answer, they don't because it is not as good as he thinks it would be. This says to humanity that things that you think are amazing (which are usually things we have never experienced) most of the times they are not as you thought they would be. Our world does have this notion that we need to live forever, with all these new types of creams and botox, all we want to do is stay young. When sometimes that is a bad thing.

Assignment 1

I think a hero is defined as someone who puts there life on the line to save others. For instance I recently saw "The Boondock Saints" and they kill "bad" people like rapists and murderers. So because of the fact that they kill supposed bad people for a better, greater good. This techinally makes them heroes. There is no real definition for a hero but I would consider them heroes. Of course a woman can be hero like any man can. I think heroes can be under which ever conduct they would like, they are heroes after all, I do not believe that they should have to follow any sort of rule besides do not kill anyone inocent. Most heroes do have "super" powers which is a great benefit to "normal" humans but others (like the brothers in The Boondock Saints) show there true powers and have none of these "super" powers. I do belive we need heroes. For instance I consider Michael Moore a hero for standing up for what he believes in and making a difference. His movies have opened the eyes and hearts of millions in the United States and the World. So in his case, yes we need them. "Unhappy the land that needs heroes." I belive this means that if a certain country needs someone to stand up for what is right and to "go against the system" then before this gets done, it will be an unhappy land. Every person needs a hero, somone to look up to, and if an entire land has no one to do such a thing and the country continues to suffer, than that land will surely suffer.
